Colbert Sensei Teaches Kids Discipline and Respect

Don’t worry if a rule makes sense—the important thing is that it’s a rule. Arbitrary rules teach kids discipline: If every rule made sense, they wouldn’t be learning respect for authority, they’d be learning logic.

  1. WOAH! Normally your posts are awesome, but I completely disagree with this.

Irrational rules only teach children that those who have power use it for their own personal pleasure and not for the good of everyone. It teaches irresponsibility, breeds resentment and is one of the major problems with child rearing ideas of the past, IMO.

  2. May, Stephen Colbert is a satirist and comedian. I’m glad you disagree.

  3. The most powerful army in the world thrives on arbitrary rules.
