This workshop will feature the rarely seen art of Song Family Xing Yi Chuan, with its unique approach to combative theory and application. Unlike other forms of Xing Yi, the Song Family style emphasizes sticking and following, using softness to overcome hardness. Workshop topics will include:

Panantukan Mini-Seminar With Guro Andy Wilson
Guro Andy will offer a 3 hour introduction and overview to Filipino Boxing, or Panantukan as it is typically called. Unlike sport Boxing, Panantukan allows use of elbows, knees, head butts, kicks, slaps, and back fist, plus the usual jab/cross/hook/uppercut techniques. Guro Andy has trained extensively under guro Rick Faye of MKG, one of the top Panantukan practitioners in North America, and with the legendary guro Dan Inosanto.Everyone regardless of skill level is invited.

Fire Dragon Meridian Qigong with Master Zhongxian Wu
In Chinese shamanism, the dragon is an auspicious animal representing transformation, communication, connection, and the universal way. The Dragon can penetrate through rock or other matter without blockage. The fire dragon symbolizes bringing the body into a balanced state to recover, restore, and maintain the network so it functions well. Fire Dragon Meridian Qigong transforms stagnate qi into flowing qi and refines the spiritual body. This workshop will help students learn:

  • Fundamentals of Qigong healing philosophy
  • Symbolic meaning of Dragon
  • Martial arts and healing functions of Fire Dragon Meridian Qigong
  • Methods for harnessing and controlling their own internal Qi
  • Yijing/I-Ching philosophy and Qigong cultivation

This entire workshop will be conducted in the tradition of special shamanic Qigong in which a lineage-based Qi field is created and held to give participants an enhanced experience of Qigong.

In a fully choreographed theatrical production, Shaolin Warriors bring the remarkable skill, stunning movement, and spectacular imagery of Kung Fu to its return Seattle engagement. Performed by the Buddhist monks of the Shaolin Temple, a sect that has become known throughout the world for its disciplined spiritualism and deadly martial-arts prowess, this unique production features many forms of Shaolin Kung Fu as well as a look at the daily temple life of the monks and their Zen Buddhist philosophy.

Hu Xi Lin’s specialty is in combinint the sensitivity and fast hands of Mantis with the throwing of Shuai Chiao.
