That's truly horrible, I'm with Zak the bloke needs pummeling on the snout. It's Sesame street meets karate, but with less realistic puppets.

You're right of course and I have no doubt he truly had the best interests of kids in heart when making it (I still think he's creepy though).

My criticism was more along the lines of what/how he was trying to . Upon reflection however, I also realize that I was judging from an adult perspective and not from the perspective of a 4-7 year-old (presumably the target audience). I can't bring myself to watch it again, but if I did while trying to think more about the target audience, I would probably be less harsh in my judgment.

It's sort of like Barney I suppose. In general, the lessons the purple beast tries to impart are worthy. That said, as an adult with most of my mental faculties, I am overcome with an urge to pummel him on his purple snout.

Nonetheless Chris, I agree that sometimes those of us that train in self defense or warrior arts tend to see nefarious intentions far more than they actually exist.

Zak, in all seriousness, I think it is very easy for someone who considers themselves a champion of self-defense, to see a mugger or child molester lurking behind every bush. Or Yin-yang headband, as the case may be. But that is not reality.

Was I the only one that was slightly disturbed by the way Master Eastwest was gazing into that little girls eyes.

Completely agree with you on the points about kiai and "I don't want to fight." While there are many verbal de-escalation techniques that work quite well, I think trying to impart such subtleties to the pre-teen set may be a bit much.

No, there is no way I would inflict this guy on my kid.
