My nomination/favourite post is

http://www.ozcombat.com/2007/03/all-martial-arts-are-mixed.html

Actually I just wrote it - so thanks for extending the deadline. I wasn't going to send anything in but it does seem a bit unfair to consume and enjoy your blog but not participate - I am a shocking lurker :)

Great contest idea and keep up the good work

[...] Best Martial Arts Writing of 2006 By chessman71 So Martial Development is running a contest to see who has the best piece of martial arts related writing for 2006. I’m not totally clear on the rules, but most of the entries appear to be blog posts. I’m also not sure if he is picking the best or letting people vote on his blog for the best piece. The latter would seem fairer. But regardless, he does have one rule that I don’t really like — you have to submit your own stuff. I find that a little too self-serving for my taste, so I’ve found a way around that requirement — I’m going to let you guys pick my post that I will enter. [...]

EliteGuardian,

If a comment contains a link and little or nothing else, it is sometimes automatically filtered out as spam. Otherwise, it should appear in 1-2 minutes. I just grabbed your comment out of the filter and reinstated it. Thank you for participating.

chessman71,

For this particular contest, I prefer that people nominate their own writing, so please tell the author(s) you have in mind about this opportunity.

How long does it take a post made here to appear or are they perhaps prescreened? I made an attempt to post here yesterday yet I see no results today? Is this a result of my procedural ignorance or my impatience?

Would you consider dropping the requirement that you nominate your own material? I'd like to nominate several posts by other people.

<a href="http://kungfu-artistry.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?p=287&highlight=#287" rel="nofollow"><font color="#00019b">http://kungfu-artistry.com/PHPBB/viewtopic.php?p=287&highlight=#287</font></a>

I wrote my entry for the benefit of those who may have become discouraged in the length of time it takes to fully grasp and perfect a new form or technique. There is a lot of discipline, patience, and self-motivation involved in the life of one who is seeking a higher plane of knowledge through Martial Arts. There is always room for improvement, and thus there is always time to learn something new. So be vigilant, safe, and thorough in your training and you will attain great skill.
